A Mother

In the dairy industry (milk, butter, cheese), baby calves are permanently separated from their mothers so that their mother's milk can be pumped for humans instead. The calves are taken away and confined in pens, never to see their mothers again or drink the milk that is meant for them. These are things that we would never think to do to a dog or a cat.
