What makes one sweet and affectionate living being a cherished pet and one sweet and affectionate living being a meal? A cat is no different than the sentient pig, cow, and chicken who place on our plates. The only difference is that we have been told to love one and look at the others as food.

We would never cut off a cat’s tail, pull out her teeth, and confine her in a cage with no space to move. But this is standard practice for all animals who are turned into our meals.
