What makes one sweet and affectionate animal a cherished pet and one sweet and affectionate animal a meal?

Why do we love dogs and cats and freely confine and kill other animals when they are intelligent, affectionate, and sweet just like our own pets? (despite what the meat and dairy industries would have us believe.)

We have been taught by society to value some lives over others. Our pets are no different than the animals who we place on our plates with the exception that some are loved and some are looked at only in terms of how their bodies can be used by humans, regardless of how they suffer.

Let’s stand for equality and reject the notion that some lives matter less than other lives and choose plant based foods.
