We see pigs as not as cute and furry as dogs which makes it easier to justify their confinement, mutilations, and killings despite the two having similar characteristics.
Beauty is only skin deep. Pigs are sweet, affectionate, intelligent, friendly, playful animals who love a good belly rub and like to chill out on a hot day.
But when we look at a pig, we see big. We see fat. We see ugly. We do not see attractive or adorable. Perhaps this is why we can decry the consumption of dog meat while readily chowing down on bacon and sausage.
Let’s look past appearances. Pigs and other animals who we place on our plates are wonderful souls.
