Speciesism is the term given to our perception and treatment of living beings based on their species. These are arbitrary biases handed down to us and we in turn hand them down to the next generation.

We have been taught to adore cats but eat pigs.

We have been taught to love puppies but kill lambs.

We have been taught that dolphins should be free but fish should be caught.

We have been taught to value the colorfulness of parrots but to ignore the lovableness of turkeys.

We have been taught that elephant calves are cute but cow calves should have their milk taken from them.

We have been taught that eagles should soar but chickens should be severely confined.

We have been taught that some sweet and affectionate animals are pets and some sweet and affectionate animals are meals.

There is no difference among all of God's creatures other than what we have been taught to think about them and do. The truth is that all animals are wonderful regardless of who and what they are.

Let's rethink what we have been taught.
